Shanghai Masters

Updated 2026-11-05

Shanghai is the only ATP Masters 1000 in Asia. It has been played at Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena in Minhang since the event replaced Hamburg in the Masters slot in 2009.

Arcade 2026 art, not the Shanghai final
The arcade game shares the year, not the trophy.

The court is outdoor hard, draw 96 / 48 qualifying / 32 doubles, and the 2026 prize total is US$9,415,725. The 2026 dates were 5–18 Oct. The stadium has a retractable roof, and the event is still designated outdoor. I will not say the roof was closed in 2026. Nobody published that.

The tournament was not held from 2020 through 2022 because of China’s travel limits during COVID. It came back in 2023. That gap is why a “Shanghai Masters 2021” search should not expect a champion.

In the 2026 final Alejandro Davidovich Fokina beat Rafael Jódar 1–6, 7–6(5), 6–4. The doubles title went to Miedler and Oberleitner. The final report and the season page both carry the singles result, so I treat that match as checked. Djokovic’s four titles between 2012 and 2018 are a single title-table reading. Murray and Sinner are among the other multiple champions on that same table.

Beijing is a different event. The China Open there is an ATP 500, not a Masters. “China Masters” in early September is badminton, a BWF Super 750 at Shenzhen Arena, listed for 1–6 Sep 2026. I keep both corrections in this paragraph so a mixed search does not get a fake tennis page.

No 2027 Shanghai window was published by 5 Nov 2026. The cell stays empty. Rolex is the title sponsor name on the current event. Tickets and the order of play live on the official site, which I link rather than copy.
